Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Forrest Griffen has announced a potential matchup with Antonio Rogerio Nogueira could take place as early as May.
Forrest is coming off a split decision win over Tito Ortiz, but had suffered back to back losses before that bout, one of which came at the hands of Anderson Silva, one of Rogerio's training partners at Black House.
Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, or Lil' Nog as he was known in Pride made his UFC debut on the same card as the Oritz-Griffen match-up with a first round knockout of fellow Brazilian Luis Cane. His debut impressed many fans, and an unfortunate staph infection forced him to pull out of his scheduled UFC 109 encore performance.
A win over former champ Forrest Griffen could put the lighter Nogueira on the path for a title shot, an honor he failed to obtain in his days with the PRIDE Fighting Championship
